Arc Flash Assessment

The first step to managing arc flash at your site

If you are just starting on your journey with arc flash then an initial assessment is our recommended way to get started. It looks at your equipment and activities to determine where arc flash is likely to be an issue and identifies a practical way forward to safely manage the issue.

Please contact us to talk about your requirements and get an assessment organised.

The Assessment Process

Data Gathering

We’ll gain an understanding of your electrical network including switchgear, sources, motors and protection. We’ll also identify who works on the network, what activities take place, and how often. Data can be gathered remotely or through a site visit.

Hazard Identification

Based on your equipment and the activities taking place, we will identify where there is potential for arc flash on your site.

Risk Assessment

We will carry out an initial arc flash risk assessment for the key electrical equipment on site, considering both the likelihood of an arc occurring and the potential consequences.

Next Steps

Based on the outcome of the initial Risk Assessment we will provide clear recommendations to move forward with arc flash at site. This could be mitigation measures such as PPE, or recommendations for further analysis to understand the risks in greater detail.
